Why do they build huge concrete pillars that are only 3 feet tall?

parked overnight at this hotel hopped in my truck this morning and completely forgot the damn thing was in front of me. They put them there to protect theyre plugins at the expense of theyre customers vehicles. About two feet in diameter and only like three feet high of solid concrete. guess what they say about walking around your vehicle before getting in really hits home now ha ha!

Hey Kevin, I'd be pissed, after all the trouble I went through to get my front and rear bumpers off, powder coated, and put back on !
But hey, don't feel too bad.... Last year I was at an AM/PM, and for whatever reason, they have these HUGE *** poles (like six, 16" diameter ones in row) only about 3ft out of the ground, but they must go 10 feet into the ground ! I swear they would stop a big rig !
Anyway, funny part about this story, is that this guy (who kind of cut me off) must have been in a big hurry, to get in, and out. So, he pumps his gas, jumps in his car, hits the gas peddle, and cranks his steering wheel to do a tight u-turn. Well, I think his rear wheels hit some gas, and his u-turn ended up being a lot tighter than he expected. He ended up slamming one of those poles with his pretty Mercedes, and I mean HARD ! So hard, it wouldn't start afterwards. Then they tried to roll it back out of the way, and his fender was hitting his tire. Sucked to be him !
Thankfully, your truck is Ford tough ;-)
Peace,
Fish
