I've run an Optima in the Ford GT as it came with one.

Sensitive batteries.

Can't use a starter/ charger with a 50+Amp jump capability as they will let loose and ooze acid everywhere....

If you let them sit for a few weeks they need to be trickle charged to be brought back...

I just bought a yellow top last year and it has been nothing less than excellent. I highly recommend them especially if you have alot of accessories drawing power off one battery like i do.

In that case I'm sure any battery would work just fine, Optima is pretty expensive but your getting an excellent battery. On the other hand my dad would tell you that he would never spend that much on a battery and has never had a problem with a name brand battery from the auto store or wal mart

Speaking of WALMART....
a friend recommended one them years ago........
Sooooooooooo.......I bought the one with 850 cranking AMPS.......
put it in my boat....$39.00 by the way, full replacement I think for 3 years...
It's STILL in my boat after 4 YEARS........
So, like your Dad said......most batteries are good............
again........most batteries are made by 3 or 4 battery companies...that's it!

I believe it, the heat doesn't bother me as much, it's more of the humidity that is unbearable!
