My problem ended up being a piece of screen broke off and stuck the solenoid open. I consider myself lucky that it only cost be about $75 and not a new engine.

my problems are very similar to yours, my question is how did you solve yours for 75$. the vct solenoids are 150$ each here in orlando?

Try to contact tasca auto parts for the part.....have your Vin# ready also....see what their prices are...they seem to be the least expensive in the nation....while local dealers tend to bend you over...
