I believe so, just make sure they use a fluid exchanger

It seems like a bunch of transmissions are going! whats up with that? I am about to buy an 04 f150 with 107k miles. How much longer should I expect it to last or does it all depend on the maintenece that was done to it?
Thanks

Hard to tell. I bought my 04 with 107k on it too and it has 112k on it now and my transmission seems to be fine.

I'm just over 100K on my 06 - rolled over back in October. Changed my plugs at around 80K. Still going strong.

66k on my 06 Lariat 4wd. Mine kinda misfires when I punch it. Feels like a tranny slip or misfire. Hard to tell. Especially going up hill. Changing plugs soon.

Did the trans ever improve the later the model? Like it seems like you don't hear about 05s or 06s having these probelms

Re-read posts #183 & #184 and look at their year models. 2008s are what I have yet to have read a post for a failing trans. The 4r75e just seems like a pre-mature failure when not maintained.

Hoping the 6r80e is a good transmission.

Update

195,000 miles on her now and it is time to rebuild the trans. Other things I've had to do to it: had a bad COP so I replaced all of them, replaced all the injectors at the same time and glad I did as I picked up 2 to 3 mpgs, replaced 1 cv joint, lower ball joints (2nd replacement, uppers are due as they are original) and this all happened at around 189,000 miles and did the work myself (I don't trust dealerships) as I do all the work on my truck just for peace of mind that it is done right!

Now have 58000 miles and runs strong
Getting ready for a trans fluid change, oil change and will do the rear diff and change it to Royal purple.
