I have a 06 Lariat screw with almost 190,000 miles. Dad bout it new and I bought it from him @ 124,000 miles. Original motor and trans. Runs great.
Only problems:
Engine fan went out last year at 168,000 miles. That didn't surprise me bc I live in Texas where it is hot as hell 80% of the year so the fan was constantly running.
Alternator went out last month but I've got a high output stereo system with subs and hella LEDs on the front of the truck so didn't bother me.
Evaporator coil went out 2 summers ago stared blowing hot air. Most expensive fix @ $1500 but we'll worth it, like I said I live in Texas.
K&N cold air with light custom engine and tranny tune. Custom built duel exhaust out the back corners. Purrs like a kitten.
34" ridge grapplers on some 18x10's with a 3in lift. Only gets 11.5 mpg but I don't mind.
Put a new steering wheel on bc the old one pealed bad. Tan leather interior. Looks almost new bc of my UV protection police K-9 unit 2% tint all the way around. Had to buy a back up camera so I could see behind me at night.
if you ever get pulled over and are worried about your tint just roll down your windows before the cop walks up.
Been rear-ended 4 times. the truck is on its 5th rear bumper and still looks new. The trailer hitch always protects well lol.
Tips:
Change your oil every 3000 miles until you hit 150,000, then change it every 5000. Only replace fluids and filters when they need it. If you haven't flushed your tranny in over 100,000 miles then just leave the fluid in it or you may cause problems by changing it. Be nice to your tranny. Pour a whole bottle of injector fluid cleaner (high octane additive) every 30-40K. Last but not least tell the old girl you love her every once in awhile and she'll love you back.

Milage
1/2/20 260,000 miles
Picked this up for $2,500 the beginning of last spring
Bought it from the ex-fleet mgr at Folsom Lake Ford in Folsom, Ca. You can still see the remains of the Ford sticker on the hood...
Have ALL service records every 5k miles, since new.
Added a shell for $140 to save $160/yr commercial truck registration fee! Now classified as a passenger car.
JUST joined this group to learn about replacing the odometer light.
I have on OCCASIONAL ticking on right side and from what I have read so far, seems to be anything from "normal" to "nightmare".....
Question: Has the low/medium weight oil controversy been solved?
Question: I am getting 14mpg at 60-63mph..... is that low or to be expected with a high millage engine?
Thank you,
2007 f150 - 260k miles
