Good MPG?

Whats considered Good gas mileage for these trucks? 08's especially?

I forget what Ford suggests the MPG is for these trucks. I just made a trip from Dallas to Houston and back. Averaged about 17-18 MPG highway. Considering my truck has 2" front level and bigger tires/wheels(18x9 - 285/65/18 Nitto's ), I thought that was pretty darn good.

Not bad at all!! I have gotten just under 20 mpg twice, but both times were while running on 2 lane roads were the speed limit is 55mph. When running 65-75 mph I usually see 17-18 mpg also. Combined city/hwy I usually see 15mpg give or take .5 mpg on virtually every tank full. Thats with 325/60/18 Nitto TG on 18X9's, 2.5" AS, Edge on lvl2, Airaid Jr. intake, and custom exhaust.

I was going 60-80 MPH pretty much the entire way. On back country highways.

Sounds like 17-18 is about average. Getting an Edge for Christmas. That should improve my MPG some aswell, right? With custom tunes.

17-18 is on the good side. yes it will help a little as long as you keep your foot off the pedal

If you haven't factored in the oversized tire in you mileage equation, it will be higher. I average 18.5 highway in my leveled 4x4.

I think he meant if your speedometer hasn't been calibrated for the bigger tires you could be getting even better.

My stock 4x4 Crew 5.4 so far gets around 18 on the road and 14 around town. Pretty much exactly what the sticker says. I would guess I could pull 20+ unloaded at 60 MPH, just haven't had a trip like that yet. Last trip I got 17.5 with the canoe on top, bikes hanging off the back, and about 700 pounds of payload at about 60-65 MPH.

I drive a 13 miles to work every day, its a mix of highway and stop and go, I average about 18, surprisingly it gets the exact same mileage as my lifted Ranger (4.0, Manual, 32's) did; and its a hell of a lot more comfortable, with a ton more power.
