Audi LED Running lights?

so....i love the new audis with their LED running lights in the headlights and bumpers.

im thinking of taking the same approach Josiah did when he did his mirror turn signals.

I think im going to drill from the back of my headlights holes to fit the LED's about half an inch away from eachother. or if i can "crack" the headlight open to take the front lens off i might just run a LED strip from oznium.
and im guessing id wire them to the relay for the current day running lights?

anyone help me out with this? also how could i wire them to run during the day and night when headlights are on?

Wire them to something that is switched power? Throw a switch in there in case you want to turn them off.

been looking around some.... found this at oznium http://www.oznium.com/side-emitting-led-strip/action

now im debating whether buying those led stirps and doing what they all did and just wedge between bumper and headlight....

OR

actually doing my original plan and drill and place and seal my own seperate LED's within the headlight

I wouldn't put them in the headlight housing, I've seen on LED websites that the heat from the headlamp will cause premature failure. Plus the drilling/opening of the oem head lamp. I you want them to run whenever the truck does, like stated above, you can find switched 12v and tap into that. I personally always run a dedicated circuit with a relay and fuse but LEDs don't draw much current. Let me know what you do, been wanting to do something myself inspired by the new Audis

Something to think about if they are going to be close to your turn signals, the LEDs on the Audi turn off when the turn signals activate.

Just a FYI

Ive ordered those exact strips from oznium and put them in my motorcycle head light and had nothing but problems. So i wrote oznium about it and they sent me a new set- nice right! Well put those new set in and within 2 weeks they went out as well. I wrote oznium one more time and said these are crap. They sent me 2 sets and refunded my money- once again these went out within 2 weeks as well.

However i went with a different type of strip. So far they have been working longer then a month lol.

this one- what you can do is paint the strip any color you want to hide it better. let me see if i can find some pics

A) crappy strip that fails in 2 weeks

B) nice strip that still works after 2 weeks

very nice looking job on the yamaha bikes =] Anymore shots?

Just wire them to the parking/running lights (amber lights next to headlights). This is a very simple mod, the roughest parts would be opening the headlight (if you choose to do so) and/or drilling. I would definitely not go my route of drilling, the led strips are perfectly spaced, pre-wired, so much less of a hassle
