Keyless Entry Keypad

https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...08-my-way.html

I have tried many times to get to the back wall of my cab, to read the little box to get my keypad code, I don't have it because the previous owner didn't leave the little card in my glovebox... So i tried and tried and I can't get the back set un-done, so i figured I would go to the dealer and get them to reprogram it.

How much do y'all think it will cost??

The dealer can't reprogram it, they can only plug in and retrieve the original code.

Some have gotten it done for nothing at a dealer wanting to be of service, and others have paid up to $80. All they do is plug a laptop with the retrieval software into your computer port. Takes about 5 minutes.

Ok, it is a black box, mounted on the inside wall of the cab right under the back glass. It is pretty much in line with the tie down for the strap that is on top of the back seat. There is a label on that black box, which is called the Body Control Module or Body Security Module.

If you look in this link, you will see the pic of the wall with the seat removed and see the box on the right side. https://www.f150online.com/forums/ar...08-my-way.html

It is not the black box with the blue cables going into it, that is part of his sound system, it is the smaller black box above the blue cables. You can see the label on it.

so i have read that the keypad harness is there in earlier trucks and that I can plug in a keypad and it may work without programming; however, does anyone know if this is any different for installing a keypad on a 2010. Dealer says the computer will have to be changed...???

There have been several that have posted that they got it done for free, including this one above.

My dealer attempted to do it for free, but turned out, I had a bad ground wire connection and they ended up having to remove the seat back and trace out the problem. Charged me $100 for that and reprogramming the BCM.
