On point 1 : Absolutely

On point 2 : The difference in protection when hitting a curb is going to be negligible at best. These are large truck tires, not car tires. The sidewall height on a 305/55-20 is more "protection" than needed against hitting a curb or pothole.

If one's truck is an offroad vehicle, then perhaps, but the majority of trucks are seeing the street more than anything else. Maybe a few sprints down the trails.

Cheaper doesn't equate to better looking.

"Oldschool" is more often equated to redneck regarding appearance.

As was said earlier though, it's obviously all a matter of personal taste. Some like the "oldschool" look, others do not.

More tire. I wouldn't go bigger than 18's with a 35. I wouldn't go bigger than 16 with a 33. I say 16's for 33's and 17's are perfect for 35's. Now if it was Ford stock 20" rim, i could do 35's on those but would rather have the 17's or 18's.

Its all what you want I run a 20" rim with a 35" tire and wouldnt change it for anything right now...Keep in mind that my truck is on the streets mostly and I dont wheel it that often anymore to much work to clean it haha.

I personally like smaller rim and more tire.
35 with 17
If you are going in the mud any then go with a smaller rim and more tire because there will be more air which will make the truck lighter and it will pull better

If you are just doing it for looks go with an 18 or maybe a 20 depending on which kind you are getting

I also don't like a 33 on 20's because it looks to low profile for me. When i see a truck i want to see tire and some rim not rim and some tire but that is just my personal opinion

I mean i like them all, but personally and financially to boot, i wouldn't go any bigger than 17's.
I try not to care too much if ppl think i'm redneck or what not, cause i'm not. If i were to put 20" tires on my 1997 f150, they'd think i was a bigger redneck. Just the fact that my truck is a 97 and not a nice new one makes me redneck around here. That stereotype is bull****, its stupid, it pisses me off some.

lol @ Lorne, like c'mon dude maybe rms8 has his own taste

Just wanted to show what type of Old schooler "redneck" I am

Stocker 17's with 9.00 (aka Military) sand tires, not the best looking/working setup, but it's certainly doing the Job...

After seeing all those 17's with 35's, I'm sold!!

Are you seriously mentally impaired, cause they have other forums on the net for that.

Don't be a complete DB/tool.

This is a T-R-U-C-K forum. My truck is a 2006. The Mustang (nineteen seventy six) is a race/show car and designed/built as such.

If you would like, I can Google some web sites to help you with your affliction.

Oh, look, you're at 24 total posts now, awesome. Keep up the productive contributions, they're hysterical.
