Check out this TSB:

Anybody have any estimates as to how much any of these repairs would cost?

My truck has some sort of obvious dampening weight rear of the driver's side tire between bed and frame.

Check the e-brake. Mine had this 55 mph vibe really bad. I loosened mine about three/four clicks on each side and it helped. I also removed the rear rotor and cleaned it good...not much dust, but still. These trucks are VERY sensitive to tires and wheels. Try this, rotate your tires yourself and when your tightening the lugs, make double dang sure your lugs are centered with the holes. Then crank each one down using a diagonal tightening pattern. You can actually spin the fronts while tightening, but the rears are alot tougher. My truck is smooth as glass at any speed and I've got 33" Toyo AT's.

I'm taking it to a shop that specializes in brakes & suspension tomorrow. Hopefully they'll be able to spot it.
Hey mine does it at 5mph also. I have installed new tires, and it is still the same.

^^ I'm going to do this tonight. ^^

Sorry if I ramble, but here goes -

I got my truck back today from a local shop. The guy said that he didn't see anything wrong with the alignment or anything with/around the wheels. He said that they were out of balance & balanced them. This helped, but I can still feel the vibration from 50 -55 mph. He said to call or come by if it wasn't fixed.

I came back and we rode down the road together and I pointed the shake out (better now since the balance, but still there). He read over the TSBs I printed out and said "to be honest with you, I could check everyone of these things and we may get lucky & fix it. There doesn't appear to be any serious problem or risk of damage. Just chock it up to a big truck, big engine, small harmless rattle. I don't think it would be worth it to 'try' to fix it."

I appreciated his honesty about the situation. I told him that I was going to get some aftermarket wheels (Monster XD 778 black 20") and new tires (undecided on which ones) within the next few months. He said "get the rims and tires and bring them to me to install them. If the new rims & tires don't fix the problem I'll find it & fix it free of charge."

The guy at the shop made me feel better but I'm still annoyed.

I didn't have the damper kit installed. Wouldn't hurt to do some experimenting first, then try the damper kit. Good luck.

I'm with you.

This is all I can find:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Eibac...ht_2963wt_1165

$300? I'm thinking new shocks would help it more and be far cheaper.

Please, if anyone knows more about this damper kit, please share.

I have a 2005 supercab @ 53k miles / 4wd / 4.6 V8 / stock steel wheels with a set of cheap *** tires and have the vibration at 52 - 55 mph. Seems almost perfectly smooth at other speeds. I tried replacing the original rear shocks with Monroe sensa-trac's and also loosening up the e-brakes a few notches, but no real change.

I am going to replace the front shocks soon and see if that helps at all.
