I had to yank hard, but it is hard to get a handle on. I wouldn't put a pry bar on it since you may mess it up.

It requires a good tug sometimes. I had one that really didn't want to move. It sounded like it was cracking. I eventually got it off. I would try to keep it straight when you pull it out. A pry bar might put too much pressure in the wrong direction and cause something to break.

I grabbed on the inner side of the light and kinda pull away from the truck. Like towards the side. So dont pull straight back, but kinda twist and pull.

You could try and put the bolts back in half way, then use a punch and hammer and LIGHTLY tap on the heads of the bolts to break the seal.

Changed my back up bulbs for the first time in 6 yrs today and the light assys on both side came out fairly easy. Try some WD-40 and let it soak and then jiggle them out. Pad a screwdriver and pry "lightly" from the tailgate side and see if they loosen up.

yeah like the others said just wiggle them A LOT and eventually they will give. oh and you see those two holes close to the bolts? don't stick your finger in there thinking there is some hidden bolt or something. i did, it got stuck and i had to call someone to bring me some soap.

I used a soft flexible rubber putty knife covered with a towel just to work my way around the light and loosen it. Once loosened a few good yanks and it was out. Be careful to to break the little tabs off on the housing when pulling them out. They're not nessicary for alignment, but not worth breaking off.
