Check out these tires..Got questions...

So I am in the Canadian army, and these wheels are on the recce vehicle I drive, a Coyote it is an 8 wheeled armored vehicle, pretty sweet piece of kit.
The tires are a 325\85R16, I can get a new set pretty cheap through the wholesalers we deal with. My question is can i put a 16 on my 2004 XLT without affecting the brakes, and what size lift would I need to put 37" tires on.

those are michellin military tires. they come in sizes for 20's too but those are like 40in.+.

but to answer your question no you can't fit 16in. wheels over our brakes.

Well that sucks.... I had a pretty sweet deal hooked up for a set, I was looking at the 20" they are not as wide, and i don't have the $$ to lift it that high.

Being as they are almost certainly a bias ply tire, you would probably need a new set every year or so. Retarded for a street driven truck.

if they are like the bigger ones then they are VERY hard. i know the bigger ones last forever and they weigh about twice as much as a normal tire their size. heck they're made to last on heavy military trucks

16 inch wheels will not fit the '04 through '08 F-150s... Regardless of the lug pattern the brake rotors will not allow anything smaller than 17 inch wheels...

With that tread pattern and being bias ply - those tires would be horrible in anything but the mud.

I ran some TSL bias ply on my old truck and it was freaking ridiculous, barely drivable, but looked sick.

They actually last along time. The US forces use those same tires and they actually have to get rid of them because they "expire" long before they ever wear out. Thats why there are a ton of them out there and people can get them for relatively cheap. The main issue is their weight.
