Street Scene Wiper Cowl

Well, after taking my cowl off yesterday to repaint it black, i got to put it back on without the rubber pieces on either end thanks to the texas sun and some serious dry rot. So, after finding out that i would have to buy the entire cowl in order to replace those little pieces of rubber i started to look into alternatives and now looking at the street scene wiper cowl. i know people have it here (yes i searched, couldnt find what i wanted), specifically kept seeing Stealth pop up. Anyway, wondering if i could see some pictures of it installed (bonus points if its on a white truck ).
Also, with my white truck, im in a debate on whether i would want to paint it black or go with white.

I once saw a link to a website that had a complete write up on the install. It definitely wasn't a simple swap job, as there was some fabrication to make it fit properly.

Mine has cracks in it and looks like ***, and the rubber end pieces are long gone. There's no salvaging it, just need to get the SS cowl.

Holy smokes, that's the best how to page (with numerous pics) I've seen for the SS cowl. You want an entire photo shoot or something?

$170.00 for a piece that you have to do all that modification to, and take the hood off too?

I'd say that's a joke.

They can be had for cheaper. Definitely look better than the trash stock cowl.

That's the nature of aftermarket body parts stuff. ...Part of his mod was for NOT having to take off the hood. A BIG plus. An excellent write up. I remember replacing the wiper motor on my '92 F-150...what a PITA!

haha, not that. just some final product pictures. the ones he had were really close so you couldnt really get the full picture of it on the truck. he has a white truck, so id like to see how it looks from a little farther back to help me decide if i do get it, go with a dark color like that (id get black) or go with the white...

Definitely go with white. I think the shiney black would look weird, almost as if a part had been taken off a black truck and installed without painting.

I think I got mine for around $130. Taking the hood off is really not bad at all just make sure you mark the brackets. IMO it was completely worth it.

Definitely get it painted to match your truck, seems pointless not to.

Anyone have this write up and pictures saved somewhere? Seems like it is gone or at least I cannot access it.
