Got a bad cat.. Options?

Well the state is breathing down my neck to get my truck re-inspected, however I've got the darn CEL on. After replacing the O2 sensor in each cat, it turns out my issue is just a bad cat period.

I've been wanting to do exhaust on my truck for awhile now (do NOT want it too loud), so it this a good reason to go ahead and do it, and maybe high flow cats too?? How to aftermarket cats compare to OEM ones in the cost department? Also, is it possible to use someone who did upgrade to hi-flows old cats and get that installed in place of the bad one??

Advice is appreciated!!

if your truck is under 80k miles you should be able to have your cats replaced for free. if not 2 high flows will run you 100 bucks from PP.

What is the exact code?

Cats fall under the 8 year/80k mile federal emissions warranty.

high flow cats will make your exhaust note a tinge louder. i would suggest going to a flowmaster 50 series or a magnaflow 18" if you were to choose high flows. it will have more throat to it and will like i said be a little louder. you could always run high flows and just keep stock muffler, or weld in a mustang gt take off. might sound pretty decent, and more stock than a flowmaster or magnaflow would

My truck's mileage is 108K.. The code is P0430.. I've learned about the O2 sensor spacer trick.. Anyone familiar with this??
