I would not throw my money away and into the pockets of any dodge or gm employee.
Not even an assembly line worker?

sorry to hear your truck got totalled, glad to hear you're ok. i would test drive both and decide from there...brand loyalty is great to a point, but at the end of the day YOU have to drive the truck day in, day out...so get the one YOU truly want...

I would go with the F150. The Rams don't run as well as you'd think they would with that kind of hp. IMO

I question whether Dodge will be around and you could have an orphan. Their sales are holding only because rental companies and the government are buying them. Retail sales are down 21% from a very poor year. I've owned a Fiat before and I don't want another.

Interesting. The corporate stuff grabbed the headlines but the main reason the government bailed them out (as wrong as it may have been) was to keep all those people working. Something you'd appreciate if you were on that assembly line.

Something else to think about. If GM and Chrysler had gone under, there are parts suppliers would have gone with them. Suppliers that also make parts for Ford.

It was basically because of the employees (UAW) and their demands that these 2 companies were in trouble. Gm and Chrysler constantly gave in to them, as far as I'm concerned they deserve to lose their jobs. Ford would not give in, 4 years ago they saw the writing on the wall and started cut backs and layoffs, just some of the reasons Ford did NOT have to take any of our money!!!

Owners may not need parts but the factories sure do to build the vehicles!

Ford is already having problems with this - there are quite a few parts on backorder to repair things that HAVE caused problems due to the companies that originally made them are no longer around. I think one example is the FPDM on the 04+.

Sorry to hear about your truck. Glad you made it out okay. I have to say either get a used 04-08 style like you had or go ne get a 2010 as its deal time or wait another month then the deals will probable be a little better as they have to get rid f the 10's to make room for the 11's. The only down side is your don't have much choice on color or options onthe reamining 2010's if you go and get one at the end of year sales deal.

Save money and buy a used truck. I bought my truck 3 years old for $20k under original sticker price. Yeah, depreciation sucks so let somebody else take that hit.

That's my understanding as well. As more people realize that the Super Duty module will work in the F150 (thanks to information sources like this), dealers are running out of those as well.
