Bent Frame

Well the other day I decided to take a short cut to the bank the two parking lots were seperated by a curb. I decided to drive over the curb into the bank parking lot. Well when I drover over the curb I heard a noise and felt a vibration at first I though I damged the front bumper got and and looked seen no damage. After I cashed my check in the bank I went and drove off as I got going I Noticed the truck was bad out of aligment as I had to hold the wheel to the right to make the truck go straight. Well today I went to the quicklane at my Ford dealership to get the aligment fixed They told me my frame is bent I looked at it where they showed me and what I see is bent is the area where the lower control arm on the right is bent at the very front. Now I have to get insurace invioved to see about getting this fixed any ideas how much this may cost ball park wise.

Were you jumping curbs, or traversing them slowly and gently?

How big of a curb are we talking about? Also, can you fill us in on your drivetrain and mods?

10mph into a curb is not a smart idea. No wonder you damaged your truck.

X2... Thats pretty quick to hit a curb, and I doubt insurance is going to step in especially if you have any aftermarket wheels, lifts, or anything of that nature

What low premiums do you pay? We have public insurance in Manitoba. If someone damages their vehicle by doing something stupid, we all foot the bill. Safe to say we both pay about the same to insure our trucks.

i wrote a book.

Climbing curbs for Dummies:
First, you ease into the curb while riding the brake until you make contact then give it enough gas to pull on top, then brake going down the other side so you don't slam it. repeat same step for the rear of the truck. By doing this proven method you will not have a bent frame.
