I have no moisture at all in mine also.

I wish I would have waited longer for you and used your shrouds.

How did you guys get the excess dust off of there? Computer dust cans or is rinsing them with water okay? (projector not permanently attached yet).

I used an air compressor and blew the dust off. I followed it up with a microfiber cloth to wipe my finger prints off everything.

I ran both my cut housing AND the projector under water and used compressed air. the projector has a magnet for the solenoid so i wasnt worried about it. make sure both dry out completely.

i did the air and one wipe like powerz. just wait till they are complete and ready to wipe them, if you keep rubbing them the darn chrome rubs off. I had to redo one bowl due to my palm rubbing the edge, wiped the chrome clean off. Luckily i had an extra bowl and it was the right side.

I've been waiting to do this for a while now but don't have the time. College is taking it all for itself. I bought the same FX-R's w/ Gatling shroud 6 months ago and they've done nothing but sit in the box they came in. It's winter to so there's no hurry. I wanted to get the halo ring but haven't decided on what size, but it looks like I'll buy the 100mm... eh, might as well order the 200mm and the 75mm to just to see how it looks.

Where did you buy your halos from and what you think about their product? I read that you said to go a size lower at "your own risk." haha

Sweet write up by the way. Will definitely review it with detail when I start my project.

Thanks

I hear ya! This is the exact reason mine has taken so long. I should be done this weekend though.

Its done and installed on the truck. All I have to say is WOW. Ridiculous output and a razor sharp cutoff. The cutoff is super colorful with the 5000k and FXR. I stuck bright white 5k LEDs into the clear corners so it matches the projectors when lit up. My camera is dead, will have pictures tomorrow night.

I got mine done by Brian over at http://sickhids.com . He just finished them and they are on the way. I will definitely post some before and after pics once they are on the truck, but here are some photos and a vid he took before he shipped them:

Breaking open headlights: 2/10 I used ebay headlights, and they had some kind of glue that was SUPER easy to split/remove. 7 minutes in the over @ 240 degrees was all I needed, didn't have to put them back in or anything. 30 seconds to split them open
Cutting hole in reflector bowl for projectors: 6/10 Time consuming and annoying because of all the noise and dust, but not necessarily super difficult. Had to cut it considerably larger than this guide shows. Also be careful as the chrome can flake off if you aren't somewhat gentile.
Drilling mounting holes in reflector bowl: 5/10 This part wasn't hard to do, just make sure to algin the projectors a bit before drilling, if your holes are off at all it will be a PITA.
Cutting shrouds to size: 2/10 I didn't add halos and I used the apollo shroud. This step was cake.
Wiring up HIDs: 3/10 Super easy, just make sure to ziptie the wires to avoid any movement and also mount ballasts to a solid, CLEAN surface.
Aiming projectors: 8/10 This was the hardest part for me. Took me a couple hours! Getting the projectors pointed straight, leveled, and at an appropriate drop-off for a lifted truck was time consuming.
Putting it all together and re-sealing: 4/10 I used epoxy glue to hold the projectors solid in place, so it just took more time. I also recommend using 3M sealing butyl tape instead of silicone, works wonders. It also sucked waiting overnight to fully dry when I was so tempted to toss it on the truck!
