How to: 04-08 OEM headlights FX-R Projector HID retrofit.

If that cutoff is with the headlights sealed up then it's next to perfect.

Like the look a lot Ducati. I would love to do the same to mine, but worry about messing up my facotry housings. How did you ensure it was level in the reflector bowl? I wouldn't be doing any devel/angel eyes or halos, so the projector would be my only item. The FX-R projectors are great though.

I bought a set of OEM housings off of eBay to use
for my conversion. Mine is the Stage 4 FX-R kit; no eyes or halos.
I wanted to improve the stock lighting without going too radical.
I wasn't able to (easily) remove the reflector bowl from the housing,
so I had to find a way to level things within the housing.
It took lots of these.......
There are 3 axes that need to be leveled to make this correct.
Axis 1
Axis 2 & 3
I took my time doing this part and was able to get it.
Powerz69 drilled and tapped his housings, I drilled and used
bolts & nylock nuts. There were a couple of times that I needed
enlarge a hole to make the projectors align perfectly.
This wouldn't have worked (in my situation) by tapping holes.
Still have to get out and do the final final revised final adjustments.

What is that on the back of the housing?? Is that the heat vent or something??
^ x2. If I knew (and had PhotoShop), I'd try and piece together what I am planning for my 99, Looks similar in terms of chrome on chrome with gatling on a white truck.
Also how are you guys sealing everything up? I've heard regular bathroom caulk, RTV Black, and JBWeld. Anything in perticular recommended or just any of those 3??

Caulk can dry out and deteriorate losing its seal.
I used black rtv for the close to OEM black color, but a clear silicone would work very much the same. It may take a bit longer to dry and seal though.
JB weld seems more like a glueing item than a sealing product. I really wouldnt use it to seal up the headlights.
Weather finally got nice this week, Ill try to snap some pics of mine tomorrow.
