ive watched these too. they make me want one too. if your not a ford fan your an idiot.

they went to a production plant, pulled a random motor, stress tested it for 150 thousand miles on a dyno, then put it in an engine then pulled logs iwth it, next up is nascar then a baja race then they will tear it apart

Their marketing game is working. It's making folks want to buy an EB F150. I sort of want one, but I would be far more impressed if their testing put 150K of actual abusive miles on the entire truck then went out and did the log pull and the additional stuff. F150's seem to have more transmission failures then engines. But I know, they are trying to get folks interested in the EB.

Maybe I need to go back and watch it again but, didn't they torture test the transmission with the engine as well or were they JUST testing the engine and then mating it with a new tranny before the vehicle testing?

Don't get me wrong, their tests in cell block 36D beat the crap out of that motor. All very impressive, but it's just a marketing game. Listen to the story as it plays out, it's all about the EB engine.

Don't get me wrong, I'm as I have been my entire driving life, a Ford truck guy. But this is a carefully orchestrated marketing exersize to enlighten potential buyers about the wonders of the new and clearly powerful EB motor.

Just my two cents on this. I want to see Ford's new motors being sucessful but I'm going to pass judgement down the road after I've seen first hand what this new motor can do.

Do I want one yes! I will wait however until my tried & true 5.4 3v blows up! By that time the EB motors should be proven......about 20 years down the road!!!

Here is the video the OP was talking about.

Pretty impressive. I would have at least used a pintle hook instead of a ball hitch to pull the logs. Seeing that chain twist that much, not come off the truck and send the log out of control is just stupidity IMO.

The first video, for those who haven't seen it yet

Chevy might want to go ahead and close there doors.

I have pulled some logs with my truck too, but not that large of logs, and not nearly that easy. Logs are hard to pull. All that weight and surface area on the ground makes it really hard to get going. Not that truck!

very impressed...more so because that log that weighs 3T is digging in the dirt as the truck is pulling it up a hill...

agreed! awesome engine. My brother in law has seen what my 04 can do and this looks like it would make it even easier with better mileage also! So much torque, unreal! He was thinking super-duty, not any more I bet!

Now a 6.2 EB might be just the ticket.... Think of the torque curve on that puppy....

^ Exactly! 90% of your torque at 1000 rpm!

Who are we joking, they won't do it. If they did, they couldn't keep up with the demand manufacturing them. They would be sued for putting every other truck manufacture out of business.!
