Broken Down

So what other parts do you think we broke?

I was at my friends house today and wanted to drive my own car when we got pizza, so I am following his car, and we were doing ~30 in his neighborhood. Truck starts to slow down and i give it a little more gas, no good, so I look down and all the gauges are at 0. I pop it in neutral, turn the key off and try to turn it on again. No good. I pull over, wait 3 hours, finally the correct tow truck comes, and we hook it up to the winch. At this point, it is in park, the brake wont depress, and we pull it up onto the truck while I am steering. I hear the tires barking as they hop and drag along the street.

Get to the dealership, and I am wondering how it is coming down...Put some thin "chocks" under the rear tires, and the tow truck bed goes forward and backwards many times, bouncing the F150 off. The rear wheels are now on the ground, the front are still on the bed. Driver gets in his truck and guns it forward, the F150 rolls off the bed of the truck and is now sitting in 4 spots diagonally.

Originally the ignition just seemed dead, as the key didn't make any of the dash work and it wouldn't even crank. Fuel pump wouldn't prime either. Battery still had juice though, we were using the lights for maybe an hour afterward and they were still fine.

I am wondering though, do you think we broke anything while playing with the tow truck

Either way, I have had the truck for 3 weeks, and am pretty pissed that I spent 27K on a truck and it doesn't work already. I originally wanted a $2K F150 just to beat and work on, and my dad wouldn't co-sign for anything under $20K. I really wish I had the $2K F150 right now so I could just have gone out and bought another one instead of having this headache. As of right now I have no vehicle, and Ford is closed until monday I believe, so no loner car or work until then. I will be dropping by on Monday to watch them bring it into the shop.

Sounds like a transmission issue, but no guarantee.

What kind of truck? 4.2, 4.6, 5.4l? Auto or manual? 4x4 or 4x2?

WOW! You spent $27k on an '07 F-150? I hope you're kidding. My brother bought a new '07 F-150 XLT Super Crew fully loaded W/5.4 in latter '07 for $21k.

I dont see how he got it for $21K, but in my area this was a good price for the truck I got. $27K is also with 3K in taxes documents and other crap, and with all the interest on my loan included.

Its and Auto 5.4L 4X4 with the dash shifter, not the stick.

That's just the price of the truck, not the taxes or license but that is for a fact what he paid. I bought my '04 XLT Super Cab w/5.4 and also loaded in June of '04 for $21,500. Listed for $30,500. That obviously is also just the price of the truck. Bought my '02 XLT S CAB (Loaded) in Feb., '02 for $20,400. Listed for just under $30k and my '99 XLT S CAB (Loaded) for $20k in Dec. '99, listed for about $29k. 3 of the 4 were 5.4. I still have pictures of the trucks and Bill of Sales. They were all 2 WD.

Well my final price before taxes and stuff was 23.5K for a 4X4 loaded with some aftermarket stuff already on it, so it saved me some time.
