Auto Light Sensor Behavior

Seems that our of nowhere, my Auto Lights come on more frequently when I would not expect them to be on. Before, there were times when I would have expected to have lights in the Auto Mode, but they wouldn't turn on. Now all of a sudden it's the opposite, they are on when I would not expect them to be. Would should I look into regarding this? Where is the sensor? I looked on top of the dash but cannot locate it.

Do you see where your red light blinks on the left hand side of dash....drivers side....when the truck is shut off?....smoked colored dome about the size of a jelly bean.
The senser for the auto lights is in there also.....
