New Truck Owner Questions

Hello all, I just purchased a 2008 f150 and I have a few questions.

My cruise control isn't working. When I hit the On/off button nothing happens. I checked the owners manual and I cant find any information on it. Could it potentially have a blown fuse or is there something worse?

What do people recommend for remote starts? I'd like to get one installed but I am not sure on what brand.

Also, do people have any recommendations of good rubber floor mats?

Thanks!

For the cruise control the On/Off button simply enables the cruise to be used, it doesn't actually set your speed. Once your at your desired speed you then hit SET and your cruise should work. If it doesn't work after doing the above then it obviously isn't working.

I just got the Nifty Catch-It floor mats. They are awesome!!

I hit the on/off and then set and nothing happens. I assume when I hit the on switch an indicator should come up on the dash, but nothing happens.

As said above the cruise light will come on when after you hit the set button.

As far as remote starts go high end code alarm units let's you retain the function of the key pad on the door. That said I have a code alarm now and thinking of switching to a viper system as my current one acts funny sometimes.

No light comes on when I hit set. Could this be a blown fuse or a bigger problem.

Start truck
Press cruise ON
Get to speed
press set
Indicator on dash should light
If you shut the truck off, the cruise automatically shuts off. You will have to press ON again.
If it is not working just like described above, you could possibly have a blown fuse. It should be in the passenger kick panel or under the hood.
Does anything else in the truck not work? I know my 96 Taurus has the reverse lights, the AC compressor, and the cruise control all on the same circuit.

Yeah I've tried many times to get the cruise control working, and it hasn't, so I'm hoping its just a fuse. I don't think anything else is broken, but I will check.

Look in the owner's manual and find the cruise fuse.
