transmission filter and fluid

I am thinking of changing the fluid and filter in the tranny. Do i need to do this with 35,900 miles or do i wait? If i do need to do it what type of fluid should i use?

It should say either on the handle for the dip stick, or on the dip stick it's self.

I'm sorry i should have been more specific on the type of fluid. Should i use a synthetic or a conventional fluid?

Use any Mercon V fluid unless your tranny calls for Mercon LV or Mercon SP.
