I think it's brighter than the VLED bulb, honestly and definitely brighter than the map light bulbs.

Color difference from your Vled Map lights? Did you get the COOL WHITE or WARM White?

I wonder if switching the dome light to the off position woudl make this any better? Its not often I need the dome light anyhow, especially with the map lights so bright.
This will show you the difference between 6000k or 5000k the two colors Vled offers and the 7000k, cool white, and 3000k, warm white that superbrightleds offers. 3200k is roughly the same color as a stock headlight or incandescent light bulb for reference.

As you can probably see if you have 5000k map lights the color will be extremely different to either the cool or warm white, the 6000k will be slightly different, you may or may not notice it, depending on how you look at it. It will also be harder to tell simply because one is in the front and one is in the back. And unless you have an eye for it you won't notice; however, sitting next to each other it will be noticeable. Hope that helps a little.

It should be brighter because the Vled is only 52 lumens versus the superbrightled which is 66 lumens. Also, the 7000k color will make it appear to be brighter, but not give off anymore light.

I just went out and tested it.... If you turn the Dome light switch to Off (where it does not turn on even if you open the doors) then the remote works like stock.
This will work for now, I do not even need the dome light, and if I do I just flip the switch!

A word to note for those who have this issue and do not want to spend another $19.95 to get a new bulb. FOr those who have not yet gotten the bulb it will be beneficial to go with SuperBright LED's instead of vled for the issue stated.

...or run shunt RF supression ... which no one has tried ...

For the folks who already own the V-Led devices ...

If you don't need your dome light, what is the point in replacing it to begin with?

The bulb I linked above from superbrightleds.com works just fine. They have cool and warm white.
