edit: I called another painter and they said for them to sand it it would be more cost effective to just buy a new set that are already smooth. I looked around on ebay and see a few options to get them smooth...so I think thats the route I would take.
You can sand them smooth yourself using say 400 grit, following up by 800, 1200 wet sanded. And then take them in. Doing prep work yourself helps sometimes. If not buying a smooth already set will be fine. They will not chip if they do a quality paint job.

I thought about the sanding myself but I don't have a ton of time to do that...the smooth ones are not to expensive then I can sell my stockers to help offset.

Thanks for the pic...definitely going to do silver...that looks nice!

Sounds like a plan. If they will fit a SuperCab and you sell them cheap I may even be interested.

Pretty much is what I'm saying. Now that I think of it the chrome may flow better on silver paint better. On my truck its a sore thumb haha.

Is that the actual process? 400>800>1200wet?

if you take alot of back roads or have a gravel driveway, stick with the FX4 flares... if you do most of your driving on pavement, the painted flares are nice.
