alright so I'll get these installed in the next few weeks and report back....yeah I'm throwing a code like that once in a while but it goes away along with my power steering making some awful noise but only on cold starts as of now.

Thank you

You have near 85k miles correct? ( judging from your spark plug swap thread to current day ), maybe buy some new O2 sensors. Some sensors fail out after a cat swap if they are aged enough. It doesn't take much dust to make them taint the sensor either.

I've got 78k on the clock actually. So you think it would be worth a shot?

You both have low enough miles that new sensors shouldn't really be needed. But, it all depends on what the sensors were exposed to while uninstalled. Zip-locking them in a bag is best to do, they are very sensitive and not really a part that can be cleaned, unlike a MAF sensor.

If you have the funds for rear sensors, its worth a try.

Thanks went out and looked at the cats setup....just want to make sure you all have the same setup as me.

02s - first set of cats - 02s - second set of cats.

Any idea why the 2nd set 02s are before the 2nd set of cats? Are those cats not serving any purpose in cleaning the exhaust? In that case, putting the 02s in the high flow cats and deleting the front two should make it not throw a cel....just my thought.

The first set (most forward to front of truck) monitors the A/F ratio. The second set checks the efficiency of the cats. That's where the P0420/P0430 codes come from. Cat efficiency codes. The rear converters are mostly for sound reduction

Oh ok perfect so even removing the rear 2 won't give me any issues if I just wanted to do that....with the highflows....I'm pretty much just putting the rear 02s in the high flow cats and not running no cats up ahead.

That's pretty much it... for the full volume increase you can cut off the rear 2 and just run the oem fronts or do as planned and cut off all 4 can run the 2 new high flows. If you put the hi flows in place of the rears and keep the oem fronts, it will only be a hair louder than stock.

I originally had planned to remove all 4 and just replace with 2 high flow cats and plug the rear 02s in but now I'm curious about trying to cut out the rear two and putting the highflow with the rear 02s in it and see what sound it makes...if its not loud enough I'll cut off the front two.

I currently have Dual Magnaflow Mufflers with an X Pipe that make it decently loud, just tired of my damn rattling cats lol (hoping it's the rear cats that are bad).

I would just cut out the rear two and put pipe in. I wouldn't waste my time switching out the rear two for the high flows.

And then if you wanted more switch it all out for the two high flows.
