My 2006 f150 with the 4.6 and a K?N air filter, dies at the stop light, it restarts w/o problem runs a bit and will die again at idle. Driving seems to clear it up, but when you roll to a stop and idle situation it will die. 57000 mile oil change every 3000. any thoughts?

 

Maybe not enough air at idle? Try cleaning the throttle body and maf. Changing the fuel filter needs to be done as well. I would start there.

 

Check the connections. Sounds like the clamps are not on tight enough and air is getting through after the MAF sensor.

 

my 4.6 used to do the exact same thing. i pulled the throttle body off and noticed it had some junk built up inside it so while i had it off to clean it, i took some sand paper and went over the connections even though they looked clean. reinstalled everything and never had a problem since..

 

That's what I think it is.. My 5.4 didn't really have any idle issue but once I cleaned mine I could tell a difference at idle.

 

The K&N oil can foul the MAF. Clean it and get a dry filter.
