Looking for temp rack to carry long

Items like a ladder in an 08 Lariat F`150.

As you know there are rails, and was wondering what everybody was using?

Saw this item and I guess its an option http://www.discountramps.com/hitch-t...d-extender.htm.

Ideas?

Not wanting to make permanent changes to truck.

When I have something like a ladder that is longer than the bed I just put in in and then pick it up while I close the tailgate. Once the tailgate is closed I just set the ladder back down on top of the tailgate.

If the ladder or other long object is heavier on one end put that end in the bed. If longer than 2 times your bed length tie the end down to the hooks in the front of the bed.

I have one of these I've used in my old '77 and it'll work with the '07, anything with a 2" reciever. versatile, you can use it to carry high loads or low loads. I also have a few extra red plastic flags and a big red towel and some straps and stuff I carry in a soft tool bag to have with me if I have a load over a couple feet back. HF has the magnetic lights that also work back there if needed, $14.99 on sle a couple years ago.

That looks pretty slick to me as far as something that is only for occasional use that you don't want to stick a ton of money into......

My brother has a non sliding Track Rack on his F150 and its held on by a few clamps with wing nuts that comes off very easily if it has to come off.

You can check Craigslist for used racks.
