Cool Volant CAI & Edge?

I just purchased a Volant CAI # 197546



I also have a edge programmer with factory tunes, my question is i have been reading on here is alot of people recommend a set of custom tunes on the edge....

Mods-

Volant CAI
Edge Programmer w/ factory tunes
Roush Dual Off-Road Exhaust Kit

Just wondering what everyones 2 cents is and where do you recommend me getting custom tunes done and what is the cost

The Edge tunes are written for the stock intake. Running a CAI on a 2004 and 2005, there is a high risk of running lean unless you have a custom tune. The only company allowed to custom tune an Edge is PHP. Go to their web site or call them to check prices.

I'm at 6100 ft with a volant and edge and I have zero problems at all.

I installed the volant CAI on my truck and had my neighbor take it to work and he ran a scan on it and said the truck is running fine and IT'S NOT running lean....

Lol, ran a scan on it. Unless he ran it on a wideband o2 scanner on a dyno, he didn't do you much good.

If it was a scanner to check for codes, that does nothing to check for a lean condition. You obviously want to ignore the warnings or don't believe we know what we are talking about. Thats fine, it is possible that yours will not be running lean. On the otherhand, you could be dealing it a slow, silent early death. A CAI does so little for performance, no way I would risk it without a tune written for it. Tuners don't cost that much and deliver far more performance than a CAI possibly can.
