has any one ever installed a usb charging port in there trucks? i want to install a usb port to charge my iphone with along with what ever other usb device i may have in the truck at any time. if you did how hard was it and what all did u need to buy to make it work off the 12v system.

This is the one I have had for almost a year now and still works great.

I used the one like posted.. Except it's two USB ports. I took it apart and pulled the metal cap from the end so just the spring is exposed. This allows it to sit flush in my cig. lighter below the HVAC controls... It's black and looks pretty factory looking... I'll snap a pic if you want but it's pretty straight forward. Charges at over 1000mA

I got a USB bulkhead adapter from B&B Electronics and mounted it next to the cigar lighter also,
Mine is round and had the pig tail on it that I used to a cigar lighter USB adapter that I tagged on the back of the power port wires in the dash.
I used round, as it matched the ~ size of the cigar lighter, but that is a personal pref thing.
I have some 1/4' thick black ABS plastic that I need to try to make a circle in for replacing the coin holder ( have a 4x2 ) to put another one there.
