Never again will I buy another POS Ford!
I know this will **** a lot of people off on here but today is the last straw for me. My 2007 F150 XLT has 133,000 miles on it and in those miles I've had to rebuild the tranny and rear end, the ac went out on it last week, it eats brakes like crazy, I've had electrical problems, and I've had to replace a couple of power steering hoses. This doesn't include all of the minor retarded engineering details on this truck. Like today, just like every time I've had to replace the air filter, that piece of junk is almost impossible to put back together.
Sorry just had to vent but if this truck weren't paid off, it'd be gone. Chevy or Toyota next time for me please. I'm done with Ford.

Sucks to hear about all the problems. There are lemons out there and ive had one before, it sucks. Was in the shop at least 50 times in one year, all for warranty work. It was traded and have loved the new truck ever since. To top it off it was the coveted 7.3 powerstroke, which will never be an engine in my driveway ever again. But since ive owned my 04 for the last 50k miles I haven't had one problem out of it. Just luck of the draw I suppose.

with the exception of the tranny and rearend the rest seem like minor repairs on a high mileage truck.
My truck has almost 106k and the biggest repair it needed was having all the bearings in the rearend replaced at 96k last fall.
Theres been other issues that were relatively minor like the reverse sensors and multifunction switch and an airbag sensor but for the most part its been a great truck and Im hoping to get another 100k out of it.

I've got to agree with some of the other guys -- if changing an air filter seems like Rubic's Cube, perhaps you're not quite the mechanic you think you are.....
And coming from a guy who's owned a GM vehicle or two (or is it tow?), if you think that going the "Chevy route" is the answer to your problems then prepare to be bitterly disappointed.....

my 02 has 160+ on the clock, the only thing that I have done to it has been pads/rotors, oil, two sets of tires, diff fluid, and one serpintine belt. The only thing that I have done that was actually repair was a fuel pump. You are either un capable of keeping up with regular maintainence or are unlucky, neither of which should be a reason to not buy Ford. Thats coming from a cruise control fire victim.
