Truck dies while stopping w/ AC on

Lately when I am driving with my A/C on, my truck will occasionally die when I go to stop at a stop sign or stop light. It doesn't sputter or anything it just loses power and is dead. But when I drive without my A/C, there's no issues at all and it never happens. I have a 2004 F150 4.6L XL.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

For stalling issues like you describe, I suggest cleaning your throttle body and your MAF sensor while you're at it. Go to the How To's section for write-ups on both. I bet this clears up your issue and you'll probably see an overall increase in driveability/performance.

Good luck

I'll take a look at those and see what I can do this weekend with this heat. I've been driving with windows down and rear slider open but would love to use my AC again. Weird that it would only happen with my AC on.

An 04 may have a IAC valve - if it does, pull it and clean it.

Ok I'll do some research and see if it has one or not and if it does cleaning it.

Check your battery cables. I had the exact same issue in a Blazer several years ago - casued by a Bad Ground...
