Glossy B-Pillars Done!

Today I added some glossy B-pillar panel lay-overs from eBay's seller Pillarcovers. I overall am quite satisfied with the look, appeal, and fitment of the pieces. They look great and are nice and thick. Very durable. A pretty good purchase for $38 dollars. A much better alternative than buying the OEM replacement panels that bare the Harley Davidson name, raising the price to $313 dollars per set. They sent the package well protected, and included good instructions along with supplying alcohol prep pads for a final clean down. From reading the paper they included they seem very up on keeping the customer satisfied. Well they gained one satisfied customer here. Thanks again Pillarcovers!

I purchased mine from the eBay link below.

My photos of the install. My all black truck needed these badly.

To make it even better, next week my mirrors will be 100% paint matched. No more cheap matte flat black!

That's definitely a mod I've been planning to do -- I'll go online in the next few days and pick up a set for my '05! I've never seen these covers before and was planning on just wrapping them with vinyl -- thanks for the information.....

They look damn good Darren. I love mine too!
Ford should've equipped these trucks with these from the factory.
But, it's all good. $38 outta my account isn't bad to get rid of that ugly OEM look...

They did, in '04 all of them had it, may have been a cost cutting option for the flat panels on '05+ but oh well. Putting them on the '05+ Mark LTs, '06+ Harleys and '08/'11 Lariat Limited models, and '09+ Platinums, adds an even nicer touch to them. But this is will give the 2004 guys little to boast about now .

You can really see the gray metallic in the tint on the front windows now!!

Looks good! Someday I need to get another set for mine. I put a few dings in the drivers side front and back door when removing the chrome overlays.

Love it! Once you get those mirrors PTM, it will look super badass IMO

The first thing I've noticed on mine is how much chrome and matte there is on the exterior. I'm totally not a fan, as both can have a cheap look to me. Wish mine was black, first vehicle I've owned that isn't lol

My thought was exact. I am installing some 3M Color Stable 20% on my bud's g/fs Escape next week. If it looks as good as factory privacy as it claims, I am ripping out my 5% Llumar and putting in the 3M Color Stable 5% in. Will be the 4th time I have tinted this trucks front doors, but it bugs the living hell out of me and I can not stand it. Hopefully that will not fail me. If so, I will end up doing two layers of 15% since my old 15% was almost a true black.

The 2004 B pillars were glossy. I love mine. I cringed when they went to that matte finish... Seems odd to me to have a dull matte finish in the middle of all that glass...

Not meaning to boast, there are enough year specific issues on the 2004 that bug me. Specifically the fact that they made the stupid Heritage model and called it a 2004. Ordering parts for an '04 F150 can confuse parts counter people all day long, and very often, you don't get the right part...

Well I can agree. I had an '04 XLT new body previously and it wasn't very problematic, but it went through calipers like crazy and my trans was beginning a nasty slip. The heritage model always bugged me also.

That looks really good! I think I found the next addition to my truck. The listing doesnt show a different kit for a Scab or a Screw. Are the pillars the same? Or did the kit come with both?

Are these a film product, or are they a coated metal? My '04 FX4 S/C already has the shiny panels, but there are a couple have dents that I'd like to fix.

I almost want to say yes they are, but contact them on eBay and see, they are very responsive and they appear to really care about the customer. If I didn't trash my slip I will try to get you the phone # they provided.

They are about 1/8th" thick pieces of vinyl. If you have noticeable dents, they will still show with these covers applied. So you will want to attempt to 'fill them in' with some type of putty and smooth them out before applying these.

Well they have only been on for 12hrs so far but I will treat them like the rest of the exterior. I waxed them last night with my Collinite 845, will wash them when I wash the truck and treat them like paint as I do the entire truck except for tires. What touches my paint never touches the wheels/tires.
