Well he's a master tech and has done a bunch so I guess he feels it makes it easier. He also says you should always change the boots while your doing the plugs. He's seen people who didn't and wound up having issues. For the few bucks its worth it.

Hi which 18v dewalt did u use the big one or the little one?

I guess it's the little one. I used the one with the quick connect on it, I had a quick connect to 3/8 drive adapter for it to use with the sockets. Not the impact that has the 3/8 drive built in.

I'm glad that people here get it. I also have a Lincoln LS 3.9V8. Those cars have misfire issues. It's almost always the boot ($6) leaking spark, but people always blame the coil ($50). I was taught to always cange them as a set. The plug can have arc tracking which makes the misfires occur earlier than they would with a new plug with a new boot.

I've used my Makita 18v Anvil style impact because its shorter overall length so it gets into tighter spots on the back of the firewall. Not to mention Anvil style is stronger with less torque loss
