No more crazy rake (new coilover pics)

Upper ball joints were bad. Replaced them with moog. Since I had to remove the coilovers to get the bolts out, I figured I'd replace them too. my truck is 2wd, but I have had oem 4x4 blocks in the back for a long time. That said, the rake was pretty crazy. I went with 4wd coilovers for the front which are just a little longer. It added about 1.5" lift to the front. The rear now sits only 1" higher.

I got a much stiffer shock than oem. While it's not quite as soft, the tightness and lack of body roll feels great.

Also, pictured are my upper control arm angles. Do they seem too steep? Most say I'll be fin.

Pictures taken with wheel off the ground? I had a 2.5 AS spacer on top of mine and looked like that with the wheel on the ground. Only bad thing at full flex the arm would hit the coil. I put around 30 thousand miles on the truck and had no major issues. The angles aren't that bad.

The wheels are on the ground.

Thanks! Seems to have just about the same stance as yours! Even adding such a small amount, you definitely notice it the first time climb into the truck.

That's a very positive improvement... Nice job... I never liked the front end dip that our trucks come with...

Thank you. I didn't mind the rake when looking from behind, but the front view just didn't look good.

Just hope my ball joins hold up with the angle it put on my UCA. I don't go off road and am really gentle with my truck going overs bumps.

I have been running a 2" leveling kit on my 4x4 for over four years with no problems. You should have no problems with the way you drive...

Thanks! I'm sure it looked good above stock, but you're truck was meant to be lowered.

Oh, sounds good. Do your upper control arms hang similar to mine?

My upper control arms do not hang at the angle that yours do. Mine are a bit flatter do to my tire size. It looks like you are running stock size tires. I'm running 34" tire instead of the 30" tires that came on my truck. This is probably why there is a difference.

My uca looks about the same with the 1.5 level (except mine has extra rust!) I did buy the powder coated style since I am in the great salt belt.

Thanks for the pic. That does look like mine. How many miles have you been running that way? And obviously doesn't seem live you've had any issues.

I've got about 15k with the level and no issues. I don't have many miles on the truck (20k), so probably looking at uca's and rotors down the road to from what I've been reading. I thought about the struts instead of the level, but only had 5k on the original struts so made no sense to do at that time.
