Yeah, I think it would look really good on yours. The tailgate one turned out better too. That damn OEM Ford adhesive sucks though! I used a tow strap to slip under it and rip it off

I hope so, but that is going to be put on the wish list for some day.

Man I thought it would be easy to take off. Like just get it warmed up with a heat gun and use a small string behind it to separate it from the tailgate.

I'm sure that would help. I kept breaking my fishing line and don't have a heat gun and was too lazy to bring a blow dryer out for these (did for my fender badges). I had to have used up 20 feet of line between using this thick plastic line I also used.

Finally finished the rest of my handles after having the tailgate one done for a long time. I love the look and think it's much better than the black. It took about 2-3 hours of sanding per handle because every power tool I had was too aggressive with removing the bumps/texture. It gives it a higher-trim-level look. I did damage/alter the lock cylinder and mech in my driver door just enough that I can't unlock my truck with the key (but it will lock it), but I should be able to mess around with it and get it working when I'm not pressed to catch a plane

I also messed the driver handle up while trying to get the lock to work because this type of paint needs a few days to fully harden and cure. But I can re-do the pull handle later.

Sanded completely smooth with 80/100, 220, and 600 grit
Valspar transparent plastic primer - 5 coats
automotivetouchup.com Ford YZ code paint - 4 coats
automotivetouchup.com clear - 4+ coats

1 can of each is enough to complete the handles, but I have 3 cans of each for various other things I have and will PTM

Before

Primered

After - painted

Looks good. How are the handles holding up? I did mine gloss black so they wouldn't be so dirty, also matched the black 2-tone on the rest of the truck

I literally finished them Wednesday night, slapped them in Thursday morning, then hopped on a plane, so we'll have to see!

The tailgate one has been holding up quite well for about 2-3 months. I anticipate that they'll hold up well because of the extensive prep work and clear.

Several years ago there was a long stretch of Texas highway where the speed limit was 70MPH even though it was a two lane road. The UT/ATM game was late in the afternoon. In the middle of the road in broad daylight, two trucks hit head on. Miraculously, both drivers stumbled out of their vehicles. Each looking at each other and the vehicles amazed that they had survived the carnage.

As they were talking they discovered that they were both on there way to the same game. The Longhorn looked in his toolbox and sighed. He reached in and pulled out an unbroken bottle of Jack that had somehow survived well wrapped and packaged. He opened the bottle and said "We should drink to our good fortune" and handed the bottle to the Aggie. The Aggie said "Mighty neighborly of ya!" and took a big swig. Handing the bottle back to the Longhorn he said "Here ya go!". The Longhorn now on his cell phone said "No thanks, I'll wait for the cops to arrive."

To top that off, the Aggie was going the wrong way to the Game

Dad went to ATM for a year. Volunteered to go to WWII. Came back from the Pacific late in the game. ATM was full of European theater vets. He became a UT grad and didn't ever care for ATM to say the least.

Me?, I was born a Texan. Grew up and graduated the school of hard knocks in the Army. Have a degree from CCU, though.

All I got from that was that the UT guy is a sneaky, dishonest bastard . . . I miss something?

I can't deal with Austin's politics and that's a massive reason as to why I didn't go there. We had a house in Austin for a while and I got enough of that city from the few times we went there.
