Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 2004 4.6l STX for cheap. It needs new intake manifold gaskets and I jumped on that right away. I also noticed the EGR crossover pipe is rusted/broke off at the lower exhaust side. See pictures. Any ideas or alternatives on how I can fix this? It is rusted to all hell, so I'm not sure I can get the remainder of the broken nut off to replace the pipe. If I can do that, I think I am golden since they are only about $25 on RockAuto.

If I can get this running well, I am giving it to my 17 year old nephew. He is a good kids, good grades, etc. His parents aren't doing too well and have to share one car between them, so the kid isn't able to drive much. Actually rides his bike to his part-time job.

You will probably wind up having to pull the exhaust manifold. You need both the pipe and a new nipple unless you can burn the fitting off the nipple with a torch. That's a tough one.
