2004 f150 sketch...

Well, at least it's not totally square like that other american made truck we all see from time to time.
As a comparison to the spy shots that looks pretty close to what it will probably be. The interior is interesting. I like it but that's quite a change. I notice the door in the drawing looks the same as the door from the spy shots. The full length door pouch and all. *shrug* will be interesting.
P.S. doesn't that look like powered running boards? hmmmm

Looks to me like it matches up with what can be seen of the spy shots. I like the exterior and the center console of the interior although the verdict is still out on that dash. Guess I'll just have to go see it in January in person. I live about half an hour from cobo center where they hold the auto show every year here in Detroit. Although I think the grill is not quite right, especially if you look through the spy shots of the grill

Well, I think it's beautiful but I sure hope they get all the driveline crap fixed and don't just slap this new body on the same skeleton and guts. That'd be the biggest mistake I've seen yet, of course IMHO.
Ford, if you're listening, start here with my comments...
1. Need more power now, offer the super charger as an option and possibly other performance options, we're buying the gas
2. Need rock crushing driveline now, offer both light and HD transmissions as an option we work them harder than you plan for
3. Need more gear choices, let the drivers decide what they want and not just force you to have a certain ratio. I'd say, 3.55, 3.73 and 4.10s whenever you want and not just with certain wheels and packages...Damnit, we know what we want, just give it to us and provide some guidlines for selecting the right gears for the application and more people will get what they really need.

I think the reason they are going light on the tranny is to boost their MPG ratings on their trucks. I second the ability to more customize the pickups from the standpoint of the IMPORTANT parts. My list of options would be....
Choice of engines 4.6 5.4 V10 (6.8?) and the new smaller 6.0 deisel. That would be awesome to be able to have that much power in the smaller truck. I suppose some people might get carried away with the load on the f-150 though.
Choice of trannies including the superduty tranny
Choice of bed length on the supercrew, I know you can get the long bed on the SuperCab, would be nice to be able to have that on the supercrew. Would a modular frame design be fesable? Then you coud mix and match beds with the front portion.
Choice of the supercharger on all angines, even on a special order basis I'm sure there would be a market for it. I might even have opted for an extra $3K to have it. Another option with this is the lightning in the S-Cab and S-Crew version. That would add a lot of versatilaty to the lightnings IMO.
Anyway, just some thoughts, practical or not.
