A parts shortage will shutdown two ford plants next week. It's only a week (at the moment) but who knows what it could do to the production schedule afterwords..

That blows! Been 5 weeks and I don't even have a build date or VIN yet, now it looks like i'll be waiting even longer...

 

Mine was supposed to be built next week at Dearborn...guess this is part of why they moved me back a week and to Kansas City...man I am ready for my truck to get here.........................

 

I don't know how I got so lucky but I'm not complaining.I ordered mine (tuxedo black)on March 17 and got it today, 34 days.

 

Tuxedo Black, and Red Candy is in short supply, but is still being built. But it will end, if your Dealer didn't tell you this, as of a couple of weeks ago. Well They possibly are leading you on. UA normal black is being Preped as a Sub.

The vehicles built Feb 24-29th at Dearborn, all have VIN #s, and should be in your hands, or on Rail Cars. A separate issue.

As far as 5 weeks without a VIN # goes, it could be do to the Dealer's sales rate, Colour, Wheels, Tires, and engine/cab Combos.

Ford is trying to do it's Best, building Vehicles for it's customer's first, Vehicle's for it's Dealer's stock second. The Dealer's can look to see what is "Buildable" every Tuesaday.

It could be worse, they could just Close the plant and build nothing.

 

Ordered mine on the 25th of Mar. Was "bucked" around Apr.21. Scheduled to be delivered May 2. Tux. Black. I think I'm getting the special edition Tux. Black It glo's at night!

 

I'm glad mine is comming from KC plant. Apparently if you order aspray-in bed liner the trucks are comming out of KC, atleast for now. Looks like the KC plant has had less problems for some reason.

 

My original ETA was 5/2 - got an update from my salesman yesterday and the new ETA is 5/3. The truck is in transit!

My brother works for the brake company that supplies Fords F-150s with their brake pads which is HeadQuartered in Japan.

From what i hear through him, Ford is having to outsource for this month+ production F-150's which could cause problems..

Apparently the radioactive red, err candy red Lariat I ordered with the Sony navigation, err empty void in the center of the dash, may eventually get built after the next ice age.

Still no acknowledgement that Ford received the order as far as I know.

Sigh.

 

You guys aren't the only ones concerned... I was waiting on the 2012 raptor order bank to open in August...however I don't want to spend 50k on a 'pieced together' truck thanks to shortages or supply issues. If this continues I may start to look more at the 2011 raptors on dealer lots instead..

 

Thats a good thing. The Sony system is a complete waste of cash.

 

I just got off of the phone with my dealer. As it turns out I understand that the radioactive red Lariat that I ordered on 3/11 with "worthless" [sic] glow-in-the-dark Sony nav system that I like is scheduled to be built on May 9th, likely Job2.
