Bought a 2011

After about a month of checking around, finally got the deal I wanted. Let me add, this purchase was to make the wife happy as I am still totally satisfied with my 2005. It's just that it has 134,000 miles on it and since we are on the road late at night at least twice a week, she was worrying about breakdowns. The truck is still in great condition but I sure did not want a break down some night about midnight and hear "I told you so!".

So, made the deal Saturday and I pick it up this Friday. It's a tuxedo black, XLT with about everything you can get on an XLT. Has the 5.0 with 3.55 LS. We will see if it's as good as Black Rose has been. It is very nice inside and more comfortable than the 2005, but I still dislike the front end and can't stand the tail lights.

I kept the 2005 for now and will sell it at some point.

Congrats Jim,

Hope this one gives you as many trouble free miles as Black Rose.

4x2. I just don't have enough need for a 4x4 to justify the cost and maintenance.

Thanks. I do a lot of highway driving, so I am looking forward to seeing what mileage I get. My 5.4 used to get 19.2 running 75-80 until I started modding and then ethanol came along. Now, I average about 15.6.

I came from an f250 and was averaging 14.4 (but running12s) so seeing 18s and 19s is new to me in a truck. The Lightning is averaging 10

It can get a little irritating when you have heard it for about a year. When she asked just how long I intended to wait and I said at least till 200,000 miles and this maybe not then, she got serious.

Congrat's again Bluejay, my wife did the same thing when my '04 hit 100k miles she wanted me to get a new truck. I'm close to 9k miles on the new one so far. With the mod's on my truck I'm averaging 17 mpg and on a straight hwy run can get 19. With your new one I'd guess 22-23 mpg easily at 65-70 mph. The 5.0's get great mileage but the 6 speed auto still get's confused shifting sometimes!
