the availability of the 6.2L for 2010 is clearly spelled out in the press release, which is linked in one of the threads in this forum...not to mention, as others mentioned, it's been common knowledge that the new engines wouldn't immediately be available in 2009

life must be hard for some people
You know thats funny....I have read every word of the press release and there is not one word about the 6.2....... So who put there foot where...............And it was not common knowledge it was a OPINION!!!

Hmmm, sure no 6.2L in that line? What scares us is that its just like Ford to come out wiht oh lets say 315-325 hp and then say thats good enough.

And I don't think Toyota really pushed the HP. Gm had the 367Hp 6.0L out at the same time, and the 400 hp Denali was ready by then too. And you knew when Dodge was leapfrogged by GM they would respond in kind.

It may be common knowledge that Igor and Dearborn Derek say were getting a 6.2L come Feb 09, but I'd feel a whole lot better if that was confirmed in some capacity ... No offense Igor or DD as I lvoe your posts.

Thank you powerkid!!! You posted it just before me

Under the hood, the new F-150 will be powered by three modern V-8 engines, mated to either a 4-speed or a new fuel-efficient 6-speed automatic transmission. The engines include:

5.4-liter, 3-valve Triton V-8, which has been optimized for better performance with improved horsepower and torque, and is capable of running on E85 (85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline), regular unleaded gasoline or any blend in between.
4.6-liter, 3-valve V-8, which is new for F-150. Both the 5.4-liter and 4.6-liter 3-valve V-8’s utilize open valve injection. This unique feature improves the flow of fuel into the combustion chamber, which results in an increase in horsepower during towing and reduced emissions.
4.6-liter, 2-valve V-8, a third V-8 choice in the line-up that delivers more horsepower with the same fuel economy performance as the outgoing truck’s V-6.

This all-V-8 engine lineup delivers a fleet-average 1 mpg improvement in fuel economy versus the outgoing F-150.

Diesel and EcoBoost gas turbo direct injection engines are planned for F-150 in 2010 as well.

I did read seomwhere that the 6.2L will debut in a Navigator a few months prior to the F150(maybe fall 08), so maybe we need to look in that direction for proof of its existance...

That's what I saw as well. It doesn't go out and say 6.2, but for those in the know you can infer it...

kalu:
Ran 6 2009 crew cab f-150's this week, the thing is huge with just a 6 1/2 box. All were black and all wrapped up. 3 valve 4.6 (GT motor) is standard, hoped up 5.4 and a 6.0 gas due in 2010, also a diesel in the works. The cab is even taller. Interior is 100% new. Sony stereo and navigation. Has pull out steps just behind cab to get into the box, step tailgate, integrated elec. trailer brake controller, cool gauge cluster. My opinion, looks a hell of alot better than the GM, I do see similarities to the tundra though, especially the tail lights. All had the new 6 speed auto. front end was all wrapped up, but it's tall and square with a bigger grill and head light set up.

DearbornDerek:
I'm sure he meant 6.2, even though he is not supposed to be talking about any of this in a public forum.

4.6L/248-hp/294-lb-ft OHV 16-valve V-8; 4.6L/290-hp/ 317-lb-ft SOHC 24-valve V-8; 5.4L/ 310-hp/365-lb-ft SOHC 24-valve V-8
At least the 5.4L is as strong as Dodge's 4.7L engine.

ok.... first off.... if you really care about "HP" then buy a different vehicle.... second.. compare the f150 towing capabilities to the toyota the chevy with their "376 HP" WOW! not. I'm sorry, i didn't buy my truck to race... if iwould have i would have bought a lightning, or better yet... a car :-0. Everyone was so skeptic of the 04's when they came out and look... STILL the best selling truck in America? How many members do we have on this forum that have f150's? I'm sorry... i had to rant.. i just think its so funny that everyone complains about how "under powered" our trucks are and still yet hundreds of thousands of people go out everyday and tow 8000 lbs. + with their f150s.
