These are real numbers? That's pathetic! They could have bolted on the Shelby's 4 valve heads and had 380 HP easy, with over 400 FT LBS. Oh well, I guess the '09 owners will have to put up with a few more years of being shut down by the Tundra guys.

Nope, but it does sound like you could use a bit more intelligence. I can barely read your posts the grammar is so bad. Go back to school and than buy a truck.

STILL the best selling truck in America? How many members do we have on this forum that have f150's? No I dont need a different vehicle I need ford to get off there a$$ and build a f-150 that has atleast the same HP as the other trucks out there! Oh and buy the way it's 380 and 381 HP for the dodge and toyota get your facts stright. And yes WOW!!! it is a big deal to some people. I didn't buy my truck to race either but it sure would be nice to be able to keep a dodge or toyota in site if I was to want to race them. And I know ALOT of people that drive GMs, toyotas, dodges that go out and tow that much EVERYDAY and can still haul a$$ after the day is over!

I didn't buy my truck to race either, but when I am towing my 8,500lbs trailer, I like to be able to merge into traffic with a little more gussto. If you don't want to be abel to do that, fine you should be happy now.

Fords tow rating is only tops with a Reg cab HD version. On a Screw with 18/20" wheels its only what 8,800. GM is 10,500 and Toyota not sure over 10 anyway....

Hmmm, sure no 6.2L in that line? What scares us is that its just like Ford (of the last 20 years) to come out with oh lets say 315-325 hp and then say thats good enough.
you're correct, my mistake and I apologize for the harsh criticism

i made the presumption that the ecoboost options, available in 2010, would include a more powerful engine (the 6.2L being the likely big engine option) since everything else has played out pretty much according to what the more knowledgeable guys (derek,et al) have insinuated so far, and automakers rarely step backwards in the power department with a new engine lineup

i don't apologize for this though: there is a lot of whining over an unknown here--even with the info 'from the horse's mouth' that new engines are coming in 2010...i realize i don't have to read the whiner threads, but give us a break--you have real-world options, exercise them...

all this being said, it wouldn't surprise me if the 6.2L isn't an option in 2010, as ford seems to be taking a proactive approach to engine design with smaller displacement engines making more power per volume...

Here's what Igor had to say about this. He has been correct on a lot of things and Dearborn Derek backed him up at the time this was posted. 2009 1/2 or 2010. Take your pick.

2009 1/2 Model (Februaury 2009) will add:
2V SOHC PFI 6.2l V8 BOSS engine (iron block, aluminium head) with 6speed auto (425hp)

2010 Model (fall 2009) will add:
DOHC 4.4l Common Rail Diesel with CGI block (315hp and 520 lb-ft)
4V DOHC TT DI 3.5l V6 - Twin Turbocharged Direct injected (Twin Force - 350hp, 380 lb-ft at 2000 rpm)

2011 or 2012 model will add:
4V DOHC TT TIVCT DI 6.2l V8 - Twin independent variable cam timing, twin turbocharged, direct injected (Twin Force - over 650 lb - ft)

So in short: The 6.2l V8 will be 6 months late, and the Twin Force 3.5l V6 and the Diesel will be 12 months late.
