Maybe wait til mid 09 when the 6.2 engine comes out, they are supposed going to have really good mpg with the direct injection.
Thanks for the complement! Diesels in general are really taking a hit. My 2007 with under 50k miles has dropped from a trade value of close to $37,000 (the end of January 2008) to $33,500 as of yesterday afternoon. To me, that is unacceptable. My 2006 identically equipped returned over $35k when I traded it with comparable miles and age. As far as 6.0L mileage, over over 40,000 miles of tracking each fill-up, I have averaged about 16.5 over 40k. Sometimes its close to 18, and other times closer to 14. The mileage includes my towing of a 6,000# travel trailer, too, and all my toys in summer/fall, so I'll bet the average is actually over 17 for strict highway. Unfortunately, ULSD has impacted the economy - I don't care what anybody says... it's not the same anymore.

My neighbor was an owner/operator of a semi tractor till this year. He sold his truck and is working for a different company now. He was paying 16k per month in fuel. Its all BS politics!!!

It usually gets better after they get 40-50k miles on them and get broken in.

I wish my truck would get 13 in the city empty...
