I was seriously considering picking up the new body style in 2010, but now I am thinking it probably wont happen. My trade won't be worth shyt because of the high fuel prices and you can bet Ford will not be giving these things away as they will be the latest and greatest version of the best selling truck in the world.
I have already dropped a decent chunk on 20's & tires, added a AF1 and looking to pick up custom tuning as soon as I get my $600.- from the govt. While I would love a new truck mine still rides like new and I am completly happy with it. Probably going to hang onto mine until it starts to give me issues

Well, I'm loving my new 2008 King Ranch so much, I doubt I'll be wanting to trade for anything less than a KR or Platinum next spring. The trade is coming, though. It's inevitable with the miles I put on. Thank goodness I love the new 2009 body style. We'll see how the towing goes this year. A 2009 F-250 with a gas motor could be an option, too. Right now, I'll just savor my King.

the 2009 F-150 Platinum Screw is my second choice. The 2009 Infiniti FX50 is my first choice, although, I'm trying to get that new grill on it to grow on me.
Both vehicles have a controversial grill to say the least.

I want a new truck. My loyality to Gm means nothing. I really like the new body style of the 09 F-150 and the 09 Ram has got me looking at it as well. GM styling dose not get me excited, I kinda like the cat eye grill of my GM truck, But its a love it, or hate it deal.
Ford, Dodge and Gm all have a hell of a lot of dirt on them, Not from working the talk, but from recalls and bad vibes from all the brand owners.
In the end, I drive them all, even the Japp trucks and hope don't get bent over...

Reason No2 I one time Used a friends Chevy Silverado 1500 to tow my boat and although there is enough power it was very hard to control fishtailing and all everything over 45 I was sweating bullets. with the Ford 70 is no bother.

I think he is referring to the fact that Ford will finally have the Ecoboost ready by 2010, and it will be a LOT better on MPG than the engine lineup offered in 2009 yet retains the same performance levels.
I think another concern may be the rumored 2012 full-remodel of the F-150 as well.
Did you see the news from GM yesterday regarding their pickup truck and SUV segments? They are halting all plans for major overhauls of those vehicles, instead only putting a small amount of money and resources towards occasional refreshs (like the '09 F-150). That way they can devote the majority of their money and efforts into what people are actually buying, i.e. cars.
Ford's only comment was something along the lines of, "We constantly evaluate and make decisions as necessary." So they really didn't say squat. If they do the same thing, perhaps buying an '09 is the way to go. My biggest fear is that I'll spend 45-50k on an '09 and then in 3 very short years they will have an all-new 150 in 2012. That would really really really upset me. That is my #1 concern about buying an '09, even over monetary concerns. Otherwise, I think the refresh is awesome and I'd love to own one.

Let's say you bought the 2009. Then the next model comes out in 2013/2014. You don't buy the first year, but you buy the 2015. Then it will be about 5 to 6 years from the purchase of your 2009, not 3. For most people it's time for a new truck.
the 2013/2014 F150 (MY) is still a go - Ford needs the new frame for the F100 and so it makes no sense to stop it.
Moreover, the new F150 is to be lighter and more fuel efficient so it makes 100% sense to keep going.
