Yes, but they're still a long wait until you'll see any trucks. For this reason (and market instability due to fuel prices), don't look for many dealers to be willing to price trading in anything as we don't have even a guess as to when we'll actually start receiving units due to start up, plant shut downs, and quality hold that always start a new model to prevent problems. So yes, and no.

THANK YOU. I have a 2006 F150 lease that ends May 31 and I am extending it to get a 2009.

At those prices looks to me like ford will have to do some deep discounts with the economy like it is and fuel prices???

Agreed. As always, Ford seems to be slow to react to changing market conditions.

I don't know if the other 2 American auto manufacturers are the same way (I only follow Ford due to loving the F150), but if they are, it's no wonder the US auto industry is hurting so badly. It's scary how slow and fearfully US auto companies are to transform with the times.

Glad I work for one of the very few companies in the US who constantly changes with the times and is still doing extremely well in this awful economy. These US auto manufacturers need to get on the ball. Very high gas prices and sagging economy and auto market does not equal launching a pickup at an extreme price. Reminds me of the pricing of that horrible Lincoln pickup thing. Blackwood? Mark LT? Same truck, but sales were terrible. Why? Pricing and ugly Lincoln badging (eg. horrid grille and taillamps, etc).

Ah well, rant over. Price too high. Said and done.

I guess I look at it differently. Comparing the truck to 2008, it seems to be about what I expected. You're paying more because of standard SYNC, dual zone climate control, Heated and cooled seats included with captains, etc. so this pricing is about what I expected. I haven't priced an XLT to see if the mid level will stay the same or not.

Having said that I do look for large rebates due to high fuel prices hurting demand for trucks, which hurts the 2009 F-150 slightly, but has decimated used truck sales and therefore ruined resale value, and that will hurt the 09 F-150 in a big way on both trading differences being higher than customers can pay and lease residuals driving payments up sharply

Don't seem that bad. After all it looks like they are for a loaded lariat and platinum...the top of the line stuff.

A current Lariat with those same options (minus the 09 stuff) is $40,305 compared to $41,760 for the 09. Not a big difference for a high end truck.

I agree that the pricing is not near as bad as I thought it would be. That truck has alot of the extras on it being the Platinum.

Definetly would not want to be working for any of the "Big Three" in there truck plants as I can see record layoffs comming very soon.
This could very well be the last, and I use this term lightly, semi sucessfull era for the full sized truck/suv in north america.

Question Platinum with NO remote start option - why?

DD, any idea why you cn't get the remote start with the Platinum? Seems extremely odd to me (and others).
