Ford In Wait And See Mode For Diesel F-150
#31
Very minor differences in all 3 of those. Fact is, if you need more towing/hauling capacity than a 5.4L F150 can provide, you need a F250.

bull crap.
The diff is
i) I can't fit in my garage,
ii) I cant make many u turns I'm can currently make in my F150,
iii) I can't fit in many parking garages I frequent.
Pretty big differences.
I/we do't need to pull more than a F150 can pull, we just want to pull it better. i.e. we don't want to pwr going up the hill. And I don't want the lessor mpg of a F250 for the rest of the year when I drive empty.

Like I said, for someone that truly NEEDS the extra towing and hauling of an F250, the differences are minor.

Anyone worried about fuel milage in a 250/350 (gas or diesel) has no business owning one.

What I said (not sure about others) is that the size difference between the 150 and 250 is NOT minor. A tleast given their most common configs.

I drive a lifted f150 and am higher that the new f250s and I still fit in every parking garage (by far) and I still fit in my garage. And when I test drove the 250 it had a lot better turning radius than my truck... just my 2 cents

power kid.. you need a serious reality check:
Why do you think the 20" wheels would make the truck taller?? The circumfrence of the tire is close to the same as the 17 or 18 inch wheel. The sidewall is shorter on the 20" wheel.
total height: 79.9 (doubt this is with 20" wheels which would increase)

That is the case with the F150's. Heck an 18" is the spare with a truck w/20's. Off the top of my head its: 275/65R18 and 275/55R20. So the lower series brings down height to virtually same as 18.
With 250 its 275/70R18 and 275/65R20. So much of the same. I looked up overall dia specs on tire rack for original equipment rubber and its 33.4 for 18's and 34.1 for 20's. So a touch higher. For all I know the spare w the 20's w/ a 250 is also a 18?

Well if they do the diesel ill think about going back to a 150 from my 08 superduty with the diesel but i think they need to give it more power then they are talking about being gm is talking around 520ft/lb and i think about 325hp in there 1500 so i hope ford does the diesel in the 150 and it is around those #'s if not ill be staying with the SD.
