Wow - that's outstanding looking as well...too many excellent choices and the brochure doesn't do the Blue color justice at all...that's a very sharp combination!!

Thumbs up

thanks trolls

Saw that one a few days back when I was looking for that color in Plat, 'cause my gf likes it. What's crazy is the truck in that pic isn't even clean. There are a few more shots of it closer up, and it's all dirty along the bottom. Still looks pretty sweet from a distance though, eh?!

I don't think I've seen a Plat in any color I didn't think looked nice, although I can't recall seeing an oxford white or dark grey one. But those are colors you can visualize easily enough.

I'm guessing by 2010 or '11 at the latest you'll see the amber gold color go bye bye (just like the blazing yellow did), and there seems to be zero interest in the stone green. At least I've seen the odd amber gold in person. Seen white, sand, red, burgundy, black, gold, dark grey, silver, everything except that green. It's certainly an odd shade of green by the order guide. The dark green's always looked real nice with the two-tone beige back in the day, not sure about this one though.

I really like the Blue, but come to think of it, I have not sean a Platinum I didn't like. I't hard to believe that my Lariat is the third from the top; it rides like a dream.

Weight on hitch

Barritia, How much tongue weight is on hitch with your trailer. In the picture it appears to be riding a little low for a small trailer. I would think with all the talk about loads and towing it would not ride so low. Unless the angle of picture just makes it look like more.

The truck is on a slope where it is parked in that picture but when im on flat ground the truck will drop about 3/4-1" when i put the trailer on the truck. I Guess there is about 250-300lbs on the tongue when my trailer was loaded that day. Sometimes my trailer weights 8000+lb in it with tools and materials. The trailer handles the weight very wheel with the twin axles as most of my weight is over the wheels so i dont have much weight on the tongue when i have just my tools in the trailer.

I really like the Platinum trucks, but am I the only one who really doesn't care for that panel on the tailgate? It almost reminds me of the 80's models with the brushed silver piece on the tailgate.

1985 F150

LOL! I did, and none of the "nicer" 80's trucks had a shot of the tailgate. Here's a 1986 F150...is this better?

Oooohh, that one has 2 gas tanks. When's that feature coming back?!

As far as the applique on the tailgate, that's part of the reason my Plat will be Brilliant Silver. It's the only color you can get the Plat in where the applique doesn't stand out against the vehicle, especially the tailgate handle area.

CF totally agree about the "blending" of the tailgate panel vs it standing out...I ordered silver too...but am seriously reconsidering the blue - it really looks nice - I especaily like the black bumper and other black contrasting with the blue...decisions, decisons
