To each his own. I like the look, guess it's because every big truck I ever saw growing up always had mud guards on them, just part of a pickup truck look. They certainly help to protect the vehicle paint also; as evidenced by any dirty truck with the splash pattern from the wheels throwing stuff up all over the front panel/door area compared to a truck with mud guards with none of that crap thrown on it. Helps to keep the truck looking a lot cleaner too.

Don't have any close-up pics of the Ford molded splash guards on my truck, but here's a full view shot. Hopefully it won't be a pain to upload pics of my new truck once it arrives, every time I try to upload a newer pic of my 2004 the site says it's too big or something. Maybe I'll just take crappy cell phone baby-size pics of my 2009 to upload here...

Looks nice. A bigger lift and different wheels/tires would have been a must for me though...

x2 especially when you know he has the $$$ considering i'm sure the truck is free of charge.

I wonder how many miles he puts on his truck in a year. I can't imagine he gets much time behind the wheel with tours and recording...

I have his GT in the shop right now... it needs a battery. its an '06 and has 664 miles on it. Was brought in last april running like crap because the fuel had turned. LOL I will get pics tomorrow it will be a few days before we can get a battery for it. GT only optima spiral actually has FORD GT on the battery.
