One thing that sucked about ordering my Plat is that I had to get 3.55ls because if you get 3.73ls you have to get those dumb-@$$ elephant ear mirror's. So there you'd be, driving around in a luxury truck looking like Dumbo. Forget that. I feel your pain, but I just had to adapt. 3.55 here we come.

Hi guys, believe what you want, I have no reason to come here and lie. Like I said, been a Ford truck owner for a while now and had every intention of buying an 09 scab until I drive the new Ram quad cab. And I could drive them back to back and stare at them side by side, since the dealer sold both brands. I never looked back after driving the new Ram ( even has no hard plastics in the interior ) and for the third week now, I love driving this truck. In the past, I've spent approx $2500 in after market performance mod's and dyno time with the 05 and then the 06 F150, was on first name basis with all the Troyer Performance folks and thought I would be going to Covington VA after break in and more dyno time with Mike with the 09. However, I strayed this time. The Ram needs no performance mod's, this thing pulls hard, stock. Finally broke it in this weekend, did I say that I love this truck! And as far as the deals, in February we could get $3000 in rebates OFF THE EMPLOYEE PRICE. ( two $1000 rebates and two $500 rebates ) I should know what I paid and my truck with a 41k price tag was knocked down to 31K ( before title/tax/tag ). One of the $1000 rebates was tied to financing through Chrysler. 36 and 48 months was the 0% ( I did the 48 month ). I guess that's the fine print you speak of. No need to wait for truck month or whatever it's called.

Regardless, was not shopping for the best deal, I wanted a new truck and have posted a few times on this 09 forum, waiting to make a decision. Also drove the sales guys crazy with all the test drives at about 5 different dealerships. I drove ALL the competition and in the end, Ford and Dodge were my two picks and the side by side comparison ( seeing and driving ) made up my mind.

Enjoy your new trucks ! I know I am. Later..

We never said we didnt beleive you. We just said that what dealers are doing in our areas are not what your getting. I called them to double check the other day to see if the website was correct and the dealer told me the same thing. No employee priceing with 0% APR. He even said this was expalined on the website. So for me and a few others the deals for the ram are exactly the same as Ford is doing. So for us it would be silly to buy a Dodge at the same price as a Ford.

Well, due to unforeseen circumstances, I now have a new, loaded, '09 FX4 (Talk about turning a negative to a positive)! I couldn't be happier with this rig after spending 1 day with it. Very nicely built. I ended up getting a very good deal: $1000 below invoice, $1000 comp cash back, and 0%/36 mo financing (I gave up the $3K factory cash in lieu of the free money loan). About $38K for a $46K sticker with zero interest and zero $ down. I'll post pics and review in a another thread later today. Immediately before buying this, I went to the GMC dealer and drove the new Sierra Hybrid. It was OK, but people here are correct, the deals they were offering (on all Sierras) were about the same as you can get from Ford. The damaged truck I replaced was for an employee...I gave him my old Tundra because I'm keeping this baby for myself!

P.S. The FX4 I bought is the same exact one that I test drove a month ago at my dealership. Not surprisingly, it was still there (with only 44 miles on it...about half of which were mine!)...they sold only 2 F150's in all of February. Needless to say, I was the only one there when I bought this weekend (had the whole staff catering to me....LOL).

Well congrats on the new truck Willywaxer. Glad you see the light lol. You will be very happy with that truck. I just been out messing around with mine and she is looking dam fine in the sunshine lol. Like we said you have to be careful what these companys advertise on TV as when you goto the dealerships you then find out that the so called truck that is included in these offers is infact not included. Sounds like you got a great price and with 0% apr your laughing.

I'd still rather have a super duty. Solid axles, heavy duty transmission. Almost a real truck. Too bad about it having the expensive unit bearings and vacuum operated hubs.

How did you get 0%/36? Was that being advertised in your area?

Its been a Ford incentive for awhile now... You have to go through Ford Credit and have a solid credit score to get... and its only 36 month, no more.

It is program #20180 and runs through the end of the month (for now). And yes, it is just for 36 mos. It jumps up to 2.9, then 4.9 for 48 and 60 mos, I believe. I inquired about their normal Ford financing rate (taking the $3K cash back) and it was 9.9%!!! Also, I found out Ford doesn't actually utilize your standard credit score, they have their own risk scale of 0-5 based on your history. I was told I was a 0, which puzzled me at first, until I was told that was the best (5 is "high risk"). Because of the computers, etc.. on this rig, I also went for the extended bumper to bumper for 100K through Ford, but made them give it to me at half price which they said was $100 over their cost (if you believe them). It also included roadside assistance for the 100K which I hope to never use. Finally, I found you can cut through the BS and get to invoice price immediately merely by presenting your Costco or Sam's Club card (if your dealer is signed up...check online 1st) then negotiate from there.

Did you specifically ask your dealer? When I checked online it didn't show up for my zip either, but I saw a national ad and mentioned it by number. It may be worth calling your dealer to double check if you haven't already.
