***** got a new FX4!

Bought a loaded '09 FX4 off the lot this weekend. First Ford I've owned. Compared to the Toyotas and Chevys I've owned in my business over the past 20 years, this is by far my favorite truck.

Interior likes: Roomy, Roomy Roomy! and quality leather, versatile Nav system, quietness, and great floor mats.
Exterior: I love this color! Also like the stock 20"-ers.

Minor dislikes: Can't download Ipod songs and data via Sync USB onto Jukebox..have to use CDs only (cumbersome!). Transmission shifts frequently and abruptly, but that's the trade off for better gas milage I guess.
I've been critical of the rear tailgate styling, but it has quickly grown on me as fresh. I would like to tone down the taillights however.

Immediate Plans: 1. Tonneau cover 2. Window tint

I live up in the Rocky Mountains at 9000 ft and the truck seems to like it just fine. We haven't had snow in awhile, but expect some this week so I'm interested to see how she handles.

I purchased a twin to yours last week... Nice choice! I love the sterling grey too, especially with the luxury package and matching handles. I put a thousand miles on it already, 250 actually were from when the dealership had to go fish it out of Dallas for me, they drove it instead of trailering it. No concerns there though, but the shift pattern will improve. I can't believe how smooth it is now, especially compared to when I test drove it. I think it learned my driving habits and adjusted accordingly. I averaged19.5 MPG on a fishing trip this weekend!! I only towed the boat about 5 miles total, from storage to dock and back twice, but compared to my 08, I couldn't even feel it. Very happy so far.

Great minds think alike! Wow, if I could get 19.5 mpg I would be very happy. I was considering the Sierra Hybrid (test drove one just before I bought on Saturday) for the milage (20mpg) but it just didn't have the interior room or finish of the F150.

The tranny will smooth out a little more as the PCM learns.

Have you tried to copy songs to the Jukebox via a USB stick? I opted not to get the nav so I'm just tossing out suggestions.

Nice looking truck. I'm even more happy I don't have to read about incentives!

USB: Yup, doesn't work. You can only record from CDs. I heard this was for copyright issues, so they made it for CDs that were purchased. If you try mp3's or data discs you loose all the artist, title, album info, but you can still burn CDs as Audio CDs in Itunes and transfer songs and retain artist/title info.

Incentives: I still have 2 more trucks to replace this year so you'll hear me gripping again in a few months!

***** the best thing to do is just buy a hard drive how ever big you need. I use a 320gb and then just get a short cable and use that for all your music. You can get them for so cheap these days. I got a 320gb for about $70 i think.

Very nice truck...I also love that colour. It was going to be my choice if I ended up with an FX4.

First off, congrats on the great looking truck! I just got mine a few days ago and love it!

Don't know why you can't load copied discs.....I had a cd that I made with various tracks (MP3's) on it and it copied to the jukebox just fine. I added the track/artist info to the cd when I made it and it copied over as well. It does take a little while to copy over, though. But isn't it awesome?

Thanks! What software did you use for your mp3 discs? Yes, the Jukebox is awesome...I like that I can select which tracks to record - it is rare that I like all the tracks on a purchased CD.

Another thing I'd like to do is remove the "F-150" emblems on the sides and tailgate. Anyone do this yet? Is it just adhesive behind them and no rivets?? I got screwed doing this on a Chevy once.

***** - congrats on your new F-150 - nice looking truck!! Glad to see you took the plunge - your dealer must have really given you a great deal

Be careful with the emblems, they generally have a "locator pin hole" underneath the adhesive so they are mounted in the correct spot. Let us know what you find underneath the badging and you can alwasy get another one with new adhesive if necessary...they generally aren't too pricy. Or if you have 3M adhesive you can trim it to fit.

I used Roxio to burn the CD. No issues - I just loaded another one, so give yours a try again.

Thanks Hotlap, I guess I'll forever have the reputation as the cheapass around here! I don't think I'll mess with the emblems as I've heard this about the locator holes from several people and I don't want to deal with fill/paint. I will be removing the "FX4" bed decals though. Ford's not as bad as Chevy in the promotional department...I bought my wife a Tahoe Hybrid and you should have seen all the decals and emblems on it to tell the World that it was "green"! I had all the emblems off my Tundra's taken off at the dealership. It makes it a lot easier to clean/wax the rigs. I asked my F150 dealer to remove the badges and he said Ford wouldn't let him do it. I told him if he didn't the deal was off, but he stood his ground so Ford must have a firm policy. Then this guy has the nerve to put on a dealership decal on the tailgate after they cleaned it for me! That lasted about 3 minutes.:o

ibcop: thanks, I'll give Roxio a try.
